Join the Legion of Mary – Where Faith Meets Service and Spiritual Growth
The Legion of Mary is a lay apostolic association of Catholics who, with the sanction of the Church and under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of All Graces, serve the Church and their neighbor on a voluntary basis in about 170 countries. With the approval and support of the Popes and a great many Bishops, Priests and Religious, as well as the prayers and efforts of legionaries, the Legion, by the grace of God, has grown into a worldwide organization with several million members.
At St. Jude, there are two Praesidiums—Our Lady of the Mystical Rose which meets every Monday at 5:30 p.m. in Room 6 of the Parish Hall and Our Lady of Fatima which meets every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in Room 6 of the Parish Hall. Our spiritual director, Deacon Salvador Mercado, lovingly guides our ministry.
We warmly welcome guests of all ages and backgrounds—whether you’re new to the faith, a seasoned member, or simply curious. You don’t need to bring anything but an open heart and willingness to participate. Mary will lead the rest.
Through the Legion, you can:
- Pray and grow in devotion to Mary
- Serve by joining Rosary and Communion services at nursing homes.
- Celebrate special Marian events like the May Crowning and October Procession
- Engage in outreach such as Home Enthronements and parish projects
- Connect with others in fellowship and support the parish mission
We have two membership types:
- Active Members: Participate in meetings and service activities
- Auxiliary Members: Support through prayer and spiritual commitment
If you feel called to share your gifts, officer roles within the Praesidium are available when open, with three-year terms.
