Today, we wrapped up another amazing Vacation Bible School week at St. Jude! This experience is not possible without the wonderful people of St. Jude - from the students and their families, to the volunteers and staff. We highlight just a few of these volunteers, but are thankful for everyone!

Vacation Bible School starts today! This week, we visit with some amazing people at St. Jude that help with so many activities at the church, including the very important task of setting up for Vacation Bible School!

Vacation Bible School starts in just over a week! St. Jude volunteers prepare for weeks, making the the most amazing decorations and setting up the most fun experience for our youth. If you have a child age kindergarten through 8th grade, they are invited!

Meet Rico Landavazo, a seminarian that will be visiting St. Jude for the next 2 months! Make sure to welcome Rico and say hello if you see him around, and especially to pray for him and all seminarians throughout the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.

This Saturday, June 6th, St. Jude will celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. In today's Checking In, Deacon Rob and Deacon Andrew discuss how we as a faithful community will participate in the tradition of processing with the Blessed Sacrament, as well as the opportunity to participate in a guided adoration and celebration of the Mass. All are invited and encouraged to join us

Fr. Tri celebrates 30 years of priestly ministry on Friday, June 5th! Help us to celebrate his years of dedication to the church with a Mass of Thanksgiving at 6:00 PM, followed by a reception in the St. Jude Parish Hall. In today's video, Fr. Do you remember your First Holy Communion? Most Catholics can vividly recall the excitement of preparing for the sacrament, the special outfits, meaningful gifts, and the joy of gathering with family and friends. This month, 137 St. Jude students will celebrate their First Holy Communion, a time of deep significance for every Catholic. This week, we follow one young St. Jude parishioner, Maisie, as she interviews her teacher Mrs. LeBlanc, and Fr. Tri about this incredibly important day.

Today is the Solemnity of The Ascension of the Lord (transferred to Sunday, May 17th in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe). Fr. Tri and Deacon Rob discuss the meaning of this solemnity, how it represents Jesus ascending into heaven after doing the will of God. Also discussed are the next several solemnities, including Pentecost, the birth of the church, and how like the disciples, we should be inspired and empowered to go and preach the gospel.

Deacon Kiko joins Deacon Rob this week to talk about World Youth Day, and St. Jude's efforts to send 22 youth to Seoul, South Korea in 2027. Make sure to stop by the Parish Hall this weekend to purchase a number of beautiful gifts for Mother's Day - each purchase benefits the pilgrims attending World Youth Day

A special invitation from the St. Jude Legion of Mary to all - please join us for the May Crowning and procession on Saturday, May 2nd, starting with a spiritual talk in the Fr. John Conway Center at 4:00pm. The procession to crown the Blessed Virgin Mary will begin around 4:30pm. All participants will be given a flower to place at Mary's altar. Please join us in this special devotion to our Blessed Mother in the crowning of Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth!

St. Jude Confirmation student Lily shares about her experience in the Confirmation program, what young people should know about Adoration and all the interesting reasons why she chose St. Catherine of Sienna as her patron saint. The last video about the Easter Triduum talks about the Easter Vigil, and why it is such a joyful and happy time for the church. Fr. Tri and Deacon Rob talk about the beautiful traditions at this Mass, and celebrating the newest Catholics and members of our church. Everyone is invited to the Easter Vigil Mass celebrated this evening at 8:00pm.


April 3, 2026 - Good Friday

Day two of the Triduum, Good Friday: Fr. Tri and Deacon Rob discuss this very  solemn day that focuses on the Passion, Crucifixion, and death of Jesus Christ. It is a day of fast, abstinence, and quiet reflection, marked by the Liturgy of the Lord's Passion, Solemn Intercessions, and Veneration of the Cross. At St. Jude, we specifically commemorate the suffering of Jesus by making our annual Good Friday Pilgrimage and with Stations of the Cross after the 6:00 PM Service. 

April 2, 2026 - Holy Thursday
Today is Holy Thursday, the start of the Triduum - the most sacred time in the Church. Fr. Tri and Deacon Rob discuss the significance of Holy Thursday, and what we specifically commemorate and celebrate on this very important day. Please join us at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church on Holy Thursday, April 2nd for the Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7:00 PM.

Every Palm Sunday, the Religious Education program (Kinder-8th grade) hosts a Lenten children’s play on Palm Sunday after the 1PM Mass. The play is a re-enactment of Jesus entering Jerusalem, the Last Supper, The Agony in the Garden and The Way of the Cross.


Emilio, a 3 year participant of the Palm Sunday Children's Play, St. Jude Altar Server, and enthusiastic parishioner shares why this play is for everyone. Please join us tomorrow, Palm Sunday, March 29th after the 1pm Mass for this performance.

This evening will be the first performance of the Youth Shadow Stations of the Cross - Through the Eyes of Mary at 6:45pm, and all are invited. Youth members of St. Jude have been practicing this emotional and powerful rendition of the Stations of the Cross for weeks. Here in this video we meet some of the cast and understand why this perfomance is so special.

This week on Checking In we share a quick tutorial on how to go to Confession, with Deacon Rob and Deacon Chuck. Teo from the St. Jude Parish Office makes his first appearance on Checking In too. Please plan on visiting St. Jude tomorrow, Saturday, March 21st for all day Confession from 8:00am to 8:00pm.

Today we visit with Fr. Jeremiah Myriam Shyrock, CFR (and a special guest). He is a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal, and will be leading our parish community next week at the Lenten Mission. The Lenten Mission will be 4 days this year - March 16th - 19th, and will cover topics  focusing on the Spiritual Life & Intimacy with God Through Prayer.  We are also very excited to welcome Fr. Jeremiah and his brother priests for all Masses this weekend.

This week on Checking In, Deacon Rob takes us on a field trip to our beautiful Chapel. In the Chapel, you will find the most serene setting of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Monday through Friday from 9am to 9pm. All are invited, most especially during this Lenten Season, to come and spend an hour with Our Lord.
