Religious Education

For K through 12th Grade Students

2020-2021 Religious Education year

PLEASE NOTE: Religious Education classes will now start Sunday, 10/18 and Wednesday, 10/21.

Our priority has always been, and will always be, the safety of our children, our catechists and staff.  We have several hundred students in our religious education program.  We have a limited time frame in which we can hold classes in the Parish Hall building and Fr. John Conway Center.  At this time, we feel that we would not be able to provide a level of social distance that would comply with the current state protocols.  Therefore, we do not feel that it would be prudent to offer on-site classes at this time.  When it is safe to host in person, onsite classes following State guidelines and protocols we will adjust the program accordingly.  We have given much thought to what this upcoming year might look like for our program.  After thoughtful consideration, we have decided that the safest way to share our faith with our students would be to start with home learning programs as follows:

  • 1st Communion Preparation classes (3rd grade) will be virtual/web-based (video conferencing).  This means that students will log in to web conference/internet based platform every week for the class depending on what time slot you register them for.
  • Religious Classes for Kinder, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th grade will be offered as an homeschool style learning.  Our catechists will create weekly lesson plans/ packets for parents to instruct their children at home.
  • Confirmation Preparation classes (9th-12th grade), we will begin a 2 year program.  Classes will be virtual/web-based (video conferencing).  This means that students will log in to web conference/internet based platform every week depending on what time you register them for.
  • RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Children) is for children in 9th-12th grade who are preparing to receive the Sacraments they have missed since Baptism, or to join the Catholic Church through Baptism, will attend RCIC classes on a regular basis beginning in August and continuing through the Easter Season, with holiday breaks.  It is a 2 year program.  Classes will be virtual/web-based (video conferencing).  This means that students will log in to web conference/internet based platform every week depending on what time you register them for.

Registration is $25 per child, and available below.  Registration will close on Friday, October 9, 2020 by 4PM.
